SSH (Secure Socket Shell) is specifically, a way of securely accessing or transferring information on a server over a non-secured information area.
In a nutshell,
SSH is a method of communicating with a server in a highly Encrypted and Authenticated method.
While SSL is a secured way of receiving information between your computer and the server of a website, SSH Securely integrates top-notch secured connection between the server and a computer or between two computers.
So, they are two different things, however, it makes your information a bit more secure.
It can also be used in the management of routers, server hardware, virtualization platforms, operating systems, and other file transferring Protocols.
Here is an example to understand this.
Let’s say you want to send a gift to a person without being opened by another person, but you know that the gifts will go through several delivery processes between different kinds of people, and you don’t want your gift to be opened, except when it gets to the right person.
With SSH you can automatically lock the gift so that it won’t be opened until it reaches the final destination, and then, when the person receives the gift, they put their lock on it and send it back to you, now you can now remove your lock and send it back to them, Hence it Remains only their lock, and once it gets to them, they can now open it with their lock.
